Ghassan Aljafar, MD,
Dr. Ghassan Aljafar is an American Board-Certified Anesthesiologist, physician executive, and healthcare consultant with more than 20 years of clinical, academic, and executive leadership experience. He is the Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Pulse Global Consulting Alliance, a physician-led healthcare consulting organization dedicated to transforming perioperative services, improving operational efficiency, reducing healthcare costs, and expanding patient access to high-quality surgical care.
Dr. Aljafar earned his medical degree from King Faisal University in Saudi Arabia before completing his Transitional Internship and Anesthesiology Residency at Tufts University/Baystate Medical Center in Massachusetts. He has practiced anesthesiology in the United States for over 14 years, providing care across a broad range of specialties, including cardiac, thoracic, vascular, orthopedic, regional, and ambulatory anesthesia.
Throughout his career, Dr. Aljafar has combined frontline clinical expertise with executive leadership. He has served as Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Adjunct Faculty at Tufts University School of Medicine, Chairman of Anesthesia at Baystate Wing Hospital, and Partner at Springfield Anesthesia.
Recognizing the growing need for physician-led healthcare transformation, Dr. Aljafar founded Pulse Global Consulting Alliance to help healthcare organizations optimize perioperative performance through evidence-based strategies, data-driven decision making, and multidisciplinary collaboration. His areas of expertise include operating room optimization, anesthesia practice management, Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS), Same-Day Total Joint Replacement programs, ambulatory surgery center development, perioperative clinical pathways, physician engagement, and healthcare financial optimization.
Dr. Aljafar has worked with hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and healthcare systems to improve surgical throughput, increase operating room utilization, enhance patient outcomes, reduce length of stay, and achieve sustainable cost savings while maintaining the highest standards of quality and patient safety.
